Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is committed to the well-being and mental health of her clients. Ashley also serves as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist at an urban high school in Connecticut. She obtained her Masters of Science and Advanced Certificate of Graduate Studies for School Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University in 2013. In the summer of 2016, she also attended and completed a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Maui, Hawaii. Since then, Ashley incorporates mindfulness techniques, meditation and body movements in therapy with both children and adolescents.
With experience in both outpatient and school settings for the past 6 years, Ashley has worked with individuals across the life span (children, adolescents, adults) who are experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. She has extensive experience working with individuals and families with: trauma, PTSD, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, attachment disorders, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, Autism, emotional disturbances, grief/loss, emotion regulation, personality disorders and personal adjustment.
Ashley has completed intensive specialized trainings in the following: Risking Connections (RC), a trauma training curriculum, Trauma-Focused- and traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), PREPaRE, a school-based crisis prevention/intervention curriculum and Mindfulness. Ashley will be attending the specialized LENS Foundations Training in Seattle, Washington this July.
Ashley utilizes a client-focused approach to therapy and believes that individuals truly do the best they know how, with the resources they have. She considers herself a life-long learner and continues to attend workshops and trainings to further her training to better meet the needs of her clients.
In her personal life, Ashley enjoys traveling, yoga, spending time with her partner and 1-year old Boxer puppy and the outdoors.
