Carmen Betancourt, LCSW

Carmen is a bilingual Connecticut Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Carmen obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) from Fordham University. She developed her clinical skills throughout her 11 years of experience providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Carmen treats individuals and families throughout the lifespan using an eclectic approach individually tailored to the unique needs of each new client. Her focus is to work with individuals to bring out the best of themselves by identifying and discarding ineffective approaches to life challenges by uncovering their resiliency, strengths, and capabilities that were previously untapped.
Carmen has experience in outpatient and in-home settings, and has experience working with diverse clients from all walks of life, providing both brief and long-term interventions. Her areas of passion and expertise include individual and adolescent with transitional or behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, parenting, and relationship challenges including couples and families. Carmen has completed comprehensive, specialized trainings in infant mental health, mindfulness, and substance use. She had also completed the intensive Circle of Security training and is a Registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator (COS-P).
Carmen is a Licensed LENS Practitioner with successful completion of intensive, specialized LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) training. Carmen utilizes the LENS and Bioregulation Therapy in the treatment of conditions involving: cognition, mood, sleep, motor functioning, executive functioning, sensory processing, anxiety, impulsivity/reactivity, pain management, addictions/dependencies, and organic brain conditions (seizures, cerebral palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, headaches, TBI, concussions). She is passionate about helping her clients resolve their symptoms and heal in an alternative, natural approach.
